Pretty Picture here

Linda Carson Teaches Stuff

I teach art privately (and oh so discreetly, with full confidentiality) at the Big Black Pig Studio.

I also teach a variety of decorative crafts (including maskmaking, handmade paper, marbling, leafing, papier mache and some darned pretty paint techniques). I teach playwriting workshops for regional high school students (and recently for credit at Wilfrid Laurier University). Summer of '99 I taught kids at the Cambridge libraries how Paleolithic people made paint. Let's be honest. If you don't move fast enough, I'll try to teach you something.

The latest adventure is that I'm teaching at the Shad Valley program, University of Waterloo. This is an engineering entrepreneurship program that brings together teens from across the country and beyond. They'll live in university residence for the month of July and study design, innovation and what to do with a good idea.

So... I get to go back and live in residence again. And as if that's not enough nostalgic fun, there are lectures at eight thirty in the morning. Rumour has it I may even be giving some of those lectures.

Yeah, right. The first thing these kids have to invent is intravenous Diet Coke.
