Linda's Time PiecesTime Pieces, Linda Carson, 1992 Mixed media, three snowdomes on a found shelf
What you're looking at is a knickknack shelf with three snowdomes on it, all in shades of golds and yellows, all biodegrading before your eyes (metaphorically speaking). Top shelf is a small dome full of watch parts in murky water, with solemn roman numerals applied around the outside of the dome. There's a second dome full of eggs, real and plastic. (A dozen of each, as I recall, all quite small.) The plastic eggs are shells (one painted gold); the real eggs are raw yolks and whites. The third dome is almost filled by a huge sea sponge. The sponge is submerged in yellow water. Pressed between the sponge and the glass are a string of pearls and three frogs.
