Drawing is as natural as singing along with the radio......why are we so embarrassed to get caught doing either? The first rule at the big black pig studio is: Don't put down anyone's work, especially your own. The second rule is: Don't lick the brushes. Support the arts the old-fashioned way: hire an artist. Linda Carson teaches drawing year-round at her own studio. Other nifty classes include painting, printing, papermaking and sometimes sculpture. No clay (no kiln), no tole (no way). Hey, this ain't the Y, this is a real studio with a traditionally-impoverished artist surrounded by easels & charcoal dust & weird still life set-ups & scented geranium plants. Shy? Private students are always welcome. We'll work out a lesson plan together. I issue gift certificates and I've even hosted birthday parties. Of course, I also accept commissions. My major areas of practice are mixed media sculpture and drawing.
